My client provides residential, short break and community services for young people most of whom are looked after within the care system.  These young people experience learning difficulties and/or challenging behaviour. 

If you are ready for a challenge, can prove you have a track record of successfully managing a team and service and can demonstrate organisational skills that are second to none then this is the job for you.

The Residential Unit Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the running of the unit, safe and appropriate care of the young people, support and supervise staff, maintain and upkeep the premises and manage the budget for the unit.

You may have a qualification or background in Hotel Management OR a qualification in the relevant discipline, child care, sociology, social work, nursing, pyschology, youth work or teaching.

You will have the ability to:
-ensure that staff adheres to professional and quality standards at all times
-motivate and enthuse staff in residential care over time and a proven track record in doing so
-use flair, creativity and experience within a solutions-focused team approach when dealing with presenting issues
-have an aptitude for team work and mutual support
-clear commitment to working positively with young people with challenging behaviour
